Ar. Woong Sik Jung, KIRA
Principal, On Architects Inc.
Architect Jung Woong-sik is the CEO of “On Architects Inc.” and an adjunct professor at the Ulsan University's College of Design and Architecture. His design approach is based on in-depth research that explores various social and cultural phenomena and pursuing the creation of new values through the quest of new materiality. He graduated from Ulsan University, Department of Architecture and served as public architect for the city of Busan and Ulsan. He won many recognitions that includes Architizer A+ Popular Choice, Honorary Mention in ARCASIA Award for Architecture, IF design award and many domestic awards for architecture. website : http://on-u.kr/
Ar. Juyoung, Shin, KIRA
Principal, MOC Architects
Architect Juyoung Shin co-founded MOC Architects (Moment Of Change) in 2018 in Busan, South Korea’s second-largest city, with his partner and fellow architect Hyunhye Hwang. He currently serves as the principal of the office. MOC places strong emphasis on context-driven design, drawing inspiration from the natural and urban environments of Busan and integrating them into their architectural work. Shin approaches architecture by first developing a deep understanding of the site’s context and aims to create open architecture that flexibly responds to its surroundings. The geographical and urban characteristics of the port city of Busan have a lasting influence on his practice, and his work consistently explores how architecture can contribute to the city’s landscape. He holds both bachelor's and master’s degrees in architecture from Pukyong National University, and he currently serves as a Public Architect for the City of Busan. Through his involvement in various public architecture and urban improvement projects, he actively engages with the public nature of architecture and the built environment. Ar. Sung Ryong KIM, KIRA, AIA
Principal, M2M Architects & MARS#BE Architects
Architect Kim is committed to exploring the evolving relationship between architecture and technology, continually pushing the boundaries of innovation within the built environment. As the principal of M2M Architects and the design director at MARS#BE Architects, he integrates digital tools and Building Information Modeling (BIM) into his design process with insight and precision. His recent focus has expanded to the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence in shaping architectural workflows. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from Dongguk University and received his Master of Architecture with distinction from the University of Michigan. He began his professional journey at JAHN, where he was deeply inspired by Helmut Jahn’s progressive design philosophy and future-oriented approach. Drawing on pioneering research at MARS#BE, Kim now leads design innovation at M2M Architects, producing bold, forward-thinking works that envision a better tomorrow. Ar. Sang Kyong Jeong, KIRA
Principal, YOAP Architects
Architect Sang Kyong Jeong is the CEO of YOAP Architects and an adjunct professor at the Hanyang University ERICA. Jeong began her professional career at the Space Group of Korea after graduating from Hanyang University. She later completed her Master’s degree in Interior and Spatial Design at the University of the Arts London. Subsequently, she co-founded YOAP Architects with Ryoo In Keun and Kim Doran. The three first met while working at the Space Group and have been collaborating since 2013, pursuing the goal of ‘sustainable enjoyment’ in the architectural design process. She is working as a Public Architect for the City of Seoul and was recently awarded the Seoul Architecture Award for her project ‘Gyeongni Stairway’. YOAP explores new possibilities between ideals and practical architectural work. Ashraful Azad, IAB
Principal, AAKOR studio
Architect Azad graduated from Bangladeshi’s most prominent architecture school, BUET- Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology in 2008. Before coming to Korea, he has been working as a principal architect of AAKOR studio. He has been a vocal supporter of the workshops and seminars to spread new insights and skills to fellow architects. He was an adjunct lecturer at BUET from 2017 to 2022. As a full-time resident of Korea, he attended the Korean Language Program of Kyung Hee University, Korea. As a professional licensed member of IAB working in Korea, he won several design competitions in Korea and Overseas that includes Seoul International Garden Show, 2024, New Agriculture Management institute in Gyeongsangbuk-do and a recipient of Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture from IAB. His understanding of the Korean Urban context and other cultures would be beneficial for the foreign participants for ARCASIA Student Jamboree.
Ar. Jason CHAN, ARB (UK), RIBA (UK), PG DIP, M.Arch
Principal, Studio POPPOP
Jason is an architect and urban researcher with over 17 years of international practice experience. In 2018, he founded Studio POPPOP, a multi-disciplinary office known for its innovative approach to architecture and urban design. His notable projects include the "Growing Together Pavilion" at the 2019 Hong Kong/Shenzhen Urbanism and Architecture Biennale and the Nataeju Poetry Literature Hall in South Korea (in collaboration with Plot Architects and JU Architects). Jason's diverse background includes teaching positions at Central St Martins, Oxford Brookes, and Lund University. He is currently based in Seoul as a lecturer and design instructor at Seoul National University, while also pursuing doctoral research on the contextualization of tall buildings in the City of London. website: www.studiopoppop.com
