Workshop Theme

Thousands Layers The Student Jamboree Workshop provides an opportunity for young architecture students from Asia, with diverse cultures, traditions, and histories, to share ideas. The fresh perspectives and thoughts of students are invaluable resources for future progress (A Better Tomorrow).

The theme of the workshop emphasizes the importance of the various viewpoints and ideas of young students who will lead the future of Asian architecture. It focuses on the process of creating new and diverse urban layers through the students' unique perspectives on the various tangible and intangible components of urban spaces, imbuing meaning and value.

Students will be provided with six locations in Incheon, where they will explore and uncover the psychogeographic images of each place. They will also conceptualize and propose new usage programs for these spaces that are currently being utilized by citizens.

The workshop will focus on field-based research and be conducted in the form of an urban hackathon and design charrette over the course of two nights and three days, with group assignments.

Reflecting recent trends in smart architecture and technological innovations, generative AI will be used as a tool for research, analysis, and design throughout the workshop process, overcoming time constraints and improving efficiency and the quality of the results.

The final outcomes will be presented in various digital formats, such as videos and PPTs.
